I have just returned home from a month long stay at Druid Cottage. Steph was an exceptional host ~ from the moment I booked my stay right through to my return home. The cottage was my magical getaway and home base featuring the most comfortable loft bed, a cozy peat fire, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious, bright dining and living room. I was honoured to have been adopted as (Steph’s cat) Smudge’s human for my stay. Fresh produce from Glendree Farm – across the road – was an added plus with free range eggs and fresh goat’s milk cheese. From start to finish I can only describe my experiences as ‘Perfect”.
Steph went above and beyond my expectations as she guided me around the area during my first week without a car. The last three weeks with a vehicle opened up opportunities to visit historical sights, towns, villages and cities (all within driving distance) and allowed me to visit libraries and museums for research purposes. Steph was always there to help with directions, adding bits of legend and folklore details about where I would be visiting. I was always able to get in touch with Steph – home or away, she was quick to return messages. Sometimes she was even available to come with me – great conversation and lots of laughs!
The area around Druid Cottage lends itself to long, peaceful walks, the sounds of rural life and scenery that takes your breath away. The local folk are friendly and happy to share a conversation and a cup of tea. While in the East Clare area, I highly recommend a stay at Druid Cottage where there is genuine warmth and welcome awaiting you.

We enjoyed staying at this beautiful stone cottage very much. The home is decorated with much love to detail so we felt very comfortable right from the beginning. It is located in a stunning landscape 15 mins by car from Tulla. You can do day trips from here to the Burren and Connemara National Parks but the neighborhood is worth seeing as well! Also, it was great to have our host, Stephanie, around. She looked after us in the most perfect way and provided great support with any issues or questions we had.
